Messy Church is a Fresh Expression of Christian Ministry reaching out to those on the parameters of the church and the unchurched. We are part of a global network that started in Southampton. Through Activity, Fun, Food and Worship the christian message is experienced and heard.
Our Messy church in this Parish, meets in Curridge W.I. Hall and is focused on families with children upto Seconday school age, though teenagers are welcomed to help. To date, we have met three times with a further two afternoons this year planned. Activities range from making to messy and games, weather permitting. Food can be hot/cold with cake and drinks.Worship is informal with songs and a short talk on the theme. To our delight attendance is growing. Families come from Curridge, Hermitage, Hampstead Norreys and Chieveley Children and parents are enjoying time together. Messy Church would not be successful without the help of a team of the congregation to plan as well as running the activities and catering. The Messy Sheep Trail held at Christmas engaged with the retailers and the children of the village to help inform the village of the meaning of Christmas. It was well received.
